Modal analysis methods for multivariate systems for short duration tests under operational conditions. Application to flutter tests
Friday, December 20, 2013 14:00 DAEP Rangueil by Jérémy Vaissette(Presentation)
The objective of modal analysis is to identify the vibration modes of a structure. This discipline may require specific tests to be performed on the system when it is in operational conditions. For some industrial applications, these tests are time consuming and costly. The industrial actors concerned therefore wish to obtain good results while trying to reduce the duration of the tests as much as possible. This is particularly true for the flight tests of a new aircraft because the flight time is very expensive. During this presentation, I will present a part of my thesis work, the objective of which was to propose methods for the identification of time-invariant linear systems that are adapted to the treatment of short duration tests in operational conditions. More specifically, I will focus on an approach based on the frequency domain identification of matrix fractions by iterative methods that I developed during my thesis. Before doing so, I will first present the context of floatation flight tests.
Research and development activities at the Computational Fluid Dynamics Group at the University of La Plata
Friday, November 22, 2013 10:45 DAEP Rangueil by Pr Federico Bacchi
The Computational Fluid Dynamic Group at the Aeronautical Department of the National University of La Plata is created with the objective of extending the capabilities for research and development activities in the fields of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, by means of the multiple possibilities offered by numerical simulation in synergy with the experimental facilities offered by the University wind tunnels and instrumental. At present, the GFC Group takes active part actively in aerospace projects, as a launcher vehicle, as well as a variety of applied investigation topics, which will be presented in this talk.
