Supavélo - Benefit from the Sustainable Mobility Package!

Benefit from the sustainable mobility package

In order to encourage the use of alternative and sustainable modes of transport, the implementation of the “sustainable mobility” package, provided for in the Mobility Orientation Law of 24 December 2019, has been effective since 11 May 2020 at ISAE-SUPAERO.

Thus, public servants who choose an alternative and sustainable mode of transport (bicycle, carpooling) can benefit from a flat rate of 200 euros per year. The condition is that they must have made at least 100 return trips in the year.

This package is exclusive of any other reimbursement of home-to-work travel expenses, but it extends financial support for travel to and from work to new beneficiaries, in particular those whose homes do not provide easy access to public transport.

To benefit from the sustainable mobility package, you must, before 31/12/2021, apply via the link below provided by the HR department:

Here are some recommendations for cycling during the winter season:
The sudden onset of winter, combined with the time change, increases the risk of accidents, especially when leaving the office. Urban lighting can give the false impression that you are clearly visible on the road and that you can see other road users correctly. At nightfall, in the rain or snow, seeing and being seen is vital.
Good front and rear lighting is essential (and compulsory!) for cyclists, as are reflectors on the pedals and wheels. Outside built-up areas, at night or when visibility is insufficient, wearing a reflective vest is also compulsory.
To help cyclists choose the best lighting for their needs, the FUB (French federation of cycling associations)has tested a range of front and rear lights,as it regularly does for locks.

And other equally important advice...:

  • Drive on the right, but not too much: by daring to take your place, you will avoid the doors, the low overtaking...
  • Communicate your intentions: seek the gaze of others, ring the bell if necessary, hold out your arm and move off gradually...
  • Be visible! To choose the right equipment and lighting, consult the results of the FUB 2020 tests.
    - Avoid blind spots, especially from buses, lorries and vans: stay behind them if they are likely to leave, it’s vital!
  • Maintain your bike: good brakes, exposed wheels, renewed and highly inflated tires. How much air? It’s written on the tire.
    - Ride cool in areas shared with pedestrians, without riding on sidewalks (except for children under 8 years old).
    - Equip yourself with a reflective rain cape with a fitted hood, a basket or panniers so that nothing hangs from the handlebars...
  • Do you feel safe with a helmet? Add a hazard spacer: motorists will no longer shave you and will see you better!
    - Respect the rules of the road: they are increasingly adapted (streets with reserved bicycle lanes, give way to bicycles at certain traffic lights, meeting zones, etc.).
    - Don’t leave at the last moment and adapt your speed to the risks, 2 fingers on each brake.
    - Brake and turn before any slippery surface: watch out for water, wood, metal, stones...
  • Cut perpendicularly to curbs, tram rails, level crossings...
